Capturing moments from our events, conferences, and community activities
I had the opportunity to be part of the ideation team in the Final Pitch Competition of the Obaasima Business Challenge, organised by WAN Hive Ghana. This initiative is vital for supporting young women entrepreneurs by providing them with essential skills, funding, and guidance for building sustainable businesses. During the competition, the participants showcased ventures in agribusiness, cosmetics, and fashion. I was particularly impressed by the creativity of the women in agribusiness (the first and second business awardees were agribusinesses), many of whom lacked formal education in the field. This raises questions about the role of academic curricula in promoting agripreneurship and how more students could be encouraged to enter this critical sector. A big shout-out to WAN Hive Ghana for their dedication to creating opportunities for women, supporting local communities, and driving economic growth and innovation.
